In Progress: Pivot door

Entry Crop

This Chicago property was originally a commercial space, but was converted to a luxury residence with the use of both traditional and contemporary windows and doors.  The storefront façade was updated with new traditional hung windows that preserved the downtown history, while the new addition consisted of contemporary direct set windows and lift and slide doors.

This sapele pivot door has 2 ft. deep jambs with a large transom above.  Although the transom has clear glass, the sidelight has privacy glass allowing for the desired light and security requested.  The custom stainless steel canopy contains concealed lighting that makes this gorgeous entry even more inviting!   To see more about Grabill Windows and Doors custom products, please visit our website.

SAY HELLO TO OUR SENIOR DESIGNER

IMG_0334
Sol Cunningham joined the Grabill Staff nearly 4 years ago.  He brought with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.  He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arizona and has years of  design experience in the window and door arena.  Sol has an unparalleled perspective to the Grabill product.  He has had the opportunity to work, hands on, with the wood, glass, finish and hardware during his rotation on the shop floor.  With that experience, he can combine the construction and design knowledge to create exactly what is requested.  Sol works closely with the architects on each job, interpreting their intentions to comply with Grabill production capabilities.  In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking.  He has even made the 13 mile trek to work by bike, now that is what we call Grabill Green.

IN PROGRESS: SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN RESIDENCE

IMG_0336
Grabill is in the process of completing a copper clad door project in Michigan.  The triple full lite doors are constructed of a primed eucalyptus interior with a copper wrapped clad exterior.  The bronze is currently unfinished, but upon completion will be custom black.
